Esports Program Director/Head Coach
Seton Hill University is seeking an Esports Program Director/Head Coach to oversee the launch and ongoing development of the varsity Esports program at Seton Hill. The Program Director/Head Coach will be responsible for recruiting, advising and coaching the members of the Esports program, as well as general operations of the Esports facility and strategic direction of the esports program. This position reports functionally and administratively to the Executive Director of Athletics. Chartered in 1918, Seton Hill University is a leading Catholic coeducational liberal arts university founded by the Sisters of Charity and embracing students of all faiths. Requirements Qualifications include: • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent experience required • At least one year of competitive Esports experience involving multi player online video games with team-based elements and expert knowledge of League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, Hearthstone, FIFA and/or similar games • Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, as well as to travel with teams for any in person contests • Experience recruiting high school and/or college students • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills • Strong marketing/promotional skills • Integrity, flexibility, positivity, adaptability, strong work ethic Essential Responsibilities: • Provide daily support for the Esports team. Ensure team compliance with all league, conference, and institutional rules and regulations. • Lead and actively participate in recruiting, student success and retention activities for the Esports team. • Supervise part time esports game coaches and may also supervise graduate assistants, interns and/or work study students. • Coordinate practice, competition, travel and off-season schedules. • Conduct coaching and instruction activities during training, practice and competition. • Continuously ensure personal behavior and program reputation are in alignment with Seton Hill University values and brand. • Assist in the development of long-term goals and strategic plan for the growth and development of the Esports program. • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Esports program • Manage and develop the Esports program budget. • Organize and run camps, clinics, and promotional events. • Collaborate with the Information Technology team to ensure optimum function, reliability and recoverability of esports technology equipment. • Conduct personal and professional growth activities in the Esports field.
